I can’t believe my little girl is 8 months old already! She has grown so quickly and right before my very eyes. I feel so blessed to be a mother and to have such a beautiful and healthy little girl.
In the last months Jamie has become quite the mover. She’s not quite doing a normal crawl, but more of an army crawl, still. Don’t worry, this doesn’t deter her. She can move much quicker than you think. As you can see, she’s also figured out how to pull herself up into a stand. She started doing that at about 7 1/2 months and I was in shock to walk into the room one day and see her standing by the edge of the crib! I quickly lowered the mattress so that I wouldn’t have myself a heart attack imaging her jumping over the edge.
This last month Jamie has stared eating blueberries, cherries, and zucchini. She isn’t the biggest fan of blueberries unless they’re mixed with cherries, but she LOVES zucchini, much to my surprise. I hated zucchini as a child, so I was sure she wouldn’t like it, but I was WRONG!! She’s still a super eater (as you can tell by the rolls and chubby cheeks). She wears mostly 9 month sizes, but is fitting into some of the smaller 12 month sizes, too. I’m also starting to move her into the size 4 diapers. I’m thinking she weighs about 21-22 pounds, although I’m not sure about that.
As far as talking goes, Jamie says “Dada” or “Da.” When I talk to her, she mostly responds to me with a “Da.” Jamie is such a little giggler. We love making her laugh, because it’s just so contagious. She is always making me smile. She loves music, and playing games, and getting kisses from her stuffed animals.
Jamie is getting pretty strong these days. She can get to a sitting position from laying on her back. I’m guessing it’s a matter of days before she figures out she can walk while using the furniture to hold herself up. I suppose I need to start babyproofing the house now. Oy vey!
