Jamie went in her for her 4 month check-up with Dr. P and here’s her stats:
Height: 25 3/4in. (97%)
Weight: 17 lbs. (97%)
Head: 16.25 in. (82%)
Look familiar? Still 97th percentile and still a BIG baby. Actually, Jamie is now the size of a 6 month old baby (and wears some 3/6 month old clothes, but mostly 6 month outfits). She’s also bigger than pretty much all of her baby buddy’s around her age and some even older than her (except her boyfriend, Henry!!) Ironically, she eats less than the average baby, according to her pediatrician. Go figure! But, she’s healthy, she has great motor skills, and she’s strong. We are very happy with our big girl!
Jamie is still not rolling! She’s SO close, though. I know she’ll be doing that soon, but meanwhile she does sit pretty well if something is holding her up. She’ll even sit in her high chair!
Jamie still loves her books. Her favorite right now is one my mom got her that plays nursery rhymes in song form. It’s one of those cool v-tech books. Sometimes she loves it so much she tries to eat it!
Speaking of eating, Dr. Pantages says we can start her on cereal whenever I feel comfortable with it. I’m still deciding when that will be. I’m sure I’ll post pics of the grand event when it comes time. In the meantime, Matt and I have made a decision to make our own baby food with organic fruits/veggies when the time comes. We’ve already starting making the move to organic foods in the last year or so, anyhow, and we feel it will be best for Jamie. I’ve acrtually stopped buying canned foods, also, but that’s another post.
I’m pretty sure that Jamie is in the beginning teething stages. She’s still a “Drools Magee” and now has the rosey cheeks to match.
At around 16 weeks I put together the jumperoo/exercauser thingy. She really loves it! She hasn’t quite got the hang of the jumping part, but she likes the toys. Oh, and it now sounds like we live in an amusement park. That thing is LOUD (even on the lowest setting).
I’d say the biggest milestone Jamie’s reached in the last few weeks is sleeping through the night. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah! Jamie goes down sometime between 8:30-9:30 pm and sleeps until 8:30 am on the dot every morning like clock-work. It is AMAZING. Both Matt and I are thrilled with this new sleep schedule. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed it stays like this for a while!!!
I know Jamie will be rolling over soon. So stay tuned for that!
