So yesterday I cleaned house like a crazy lady. Case in point- I even wore Jamie in the baby carrier to vacuum my house and the stairs! I’m sure it was a funny sight to see, and I better have burned about 3000 calories doing that, cause I sweat like a pig in the process, and I feel like I got hit by a truck this morning (I’m so sore!)
So, my point here is that now that we have a munchkin in the house, I’ve been very careful about the chemicals I use to clean the house. I have slowly started replacing my scrubbing bubbles with Method and 7th Generation brand cleaners. They seem to work great except for one thing…
..they smell too good.
I know that must sound weird to you and it’s probably just a psychological thing but I can’t get over the fact that my nose hairs don’t sting/singe when I’m cleaning my bathroom.
Here’s the thing- nothing says clean more than the smell of lemony arsenic and bleach, right? And, I know that eucalyptus and spearmint is minty fresh, but I just don’t feel like my toilet is clean enough without a piece of my lungs dying as I scrub the bowl. And you know how much I love my scrubbing bubbles…
So, how do I know that these “safe” cleaners are killing all the germs in my house?
Also, ironically I got this newsletter this morning from Creative Homemaking about green methods for cleaning the bathroom. Anyone ever use lemon to clean water stains? I’ve got glass doors on both my showers, and this is a real problem. Hence why I use lemony arsenic, ahem…Arm & Hammer Scrub Free Bathroom Cleaner in Lemon Scent.
