First day of school (for teachers) here in Pinellas County, and I made it through the day without trying to fall asleep at my desk. I got to see all my friends and talk to them about their summers. No one could believe how big my belly was. I got my desk organized, along with a few other things. I block planned the first 3 weeks of school…You know, typical teacher stuff. Boring.
Yes, I did take a nap when I got home. My eyes wouldn’t stay open. I tried to keep them open, but it didn’t work. So I gave in, and it was awesome!
But, let’s talk about more exciting things. Like, how my in-laws and niece are here….
They flew in Saturday night, which also happened to be my father-in-law’s birthday. So, I went to go buy him a cake, and decided instead I would make him a cake. But, it doesn’t end there, cause I can’t be happy just making a cake. Nope. I also ended up making chocolate covered pretzels and candies. I mixed almonds and marshmallows in the leftover chocolate from the pretzels and then drizzled them with white chocolate. So easy and so yummy!!
Behold my creations (But don’t look too close at the cake, because my shell border and letters got a little crooked. Oopsie! Also, my father-in-law is a huge Iowa Hawkeye fan, so that’s the logo you see on the cake.)
