I hope everyone had a safe and fun Easter with friends and family! We are very fortunate to have my parents only 2.5 miles away from us, so we naturally spent Easter with them, my sister and brother-in-law (who came into town from Miami), and some friends of the family. It was a beautiful Spring day here in Florida – perfect for Easter! Yay for normal Florida weather!!!
My mom had to work for most of the weekend since she has been on-call (she does some geeky computer things that I couldn’t even begin to explain) and so I ended up hosting our Easter Feast a little last minute.
Remember that cake I had promised the family for Easter? Well, I already had that made, so I made a crock pot meal and some croissants and all turned out pretty well.
Um, I would like to mention that I almost made a clown cake again for Easter since that seems to be pretty easy for me, but decided that wasn’t very Easterish and so I put my big girl panties on and practiced the roses and shell border again. It still needs some work, but there was a HUGE improvement and overall I was pleased. Also, remember the crumb problem I was having while icing my cake base? Well, I asked one of the Chefs at the Culinary Academy at my school and she advised me that I was trying to be too much of a perfectionist and just slop on the icing. And, guess what? She was right. I slopped on the icing and no crumbs. Go figure…
I laid out the dining room table with some girl scout cookies and malt ball eggs from Mom Tow. Thanks again for the Easter goodies!! 🙂
This year I gave out little Easter goodies that I found on craftbits.
By the way, I did get 4 out of the 6 spring cleaning items on my list done. Woo-hoo! Way more than I imagined I could do!
Tomorrow I’ll post my knitting class update (way fun!) and my 14 week belly pic.
