Thursday morning I woke up looking about 4 months pregnant. My pants still fit as long as I don’t button them. Did I mention that the other reason I’m looking forward to getting pregnant is maternity clothes? Yeah. I think at this point I would really just like a cute pair of elastic pants. Uh, huh. I’m not even kidding. Do you think that it’s possible to find any of those when you aren’t pregnant? Probably not.
Thursday morning I came in for my regular blood work and ultrasound to find that 7 of my sixteen eggies are already at 17 mm. Holy Moly! That explains my popped out belly. There was a ton of controversy about when we were going to do the trigger shot and retrieval, so I saved my appointment update news until I knew the facts.
Thursday afternoon, I got a call to wait on the HCG and to come in on Saturday morning for more blood work and another ultrasound. So, this morning I dragged myself out of bed and went in for more needles to find that my 7 eggies are now over 20 mm!!
I took my trigger shot tonight. OW! The needle is almost 3 in long and had to go all the way in. I thought I wasn’t going to be able to give myself the shot, but turns out the extra padding I’m sporting on my behind comes in handy after all. snicker
IVF Status as follows:
Retrieval on Monday Morning
Transfer on Thursday Morning
I have to actually take 3 days off this week, which has me a little freaked. Ok, very freaked. I hate taking days off from work and I feel guilty leaving Carol
(The lady I co-teach with) and my students with a sub so close to finals. Hmmm…I owe Carol big time. Even though she keeps telling me not to worry about it, I can sense she is a little stressed. Maybe I can make her a big gift basket or something…
So, looks like this is really happening. IVF is so unpredictable because you never know how your body will react. There is always the possibility that it will get cancelled at any time, but at this point it’s pretty much a go.
Wish me luck! I’m going to need everyone’s prayers and positive thoughts.
Which reminds me….I’m going to an Episcopal Mass tomorrow morning. LOL!
