One time Matt and I went to the Florida State Fair (our annual Valentine’s date) and they were giving out free samples of SPAM.
Now, I’m not a big SPAM eater for two reasons.
1) I barely eat any meat as it is unless it is poultry or seafood.
2) I think it smells like dog food.
But, we left with our SPAM samples anyhow and I teasingly told him I was going to make him lunch with it. (During this time I made Matt’s lunches because I really loved him and I wanted him to love me back. I still love him, but we’re married now so I don’t have to do those things now- right, Matt? 🙂 j/k).
One morning I had to get up extra early and low and behold we were out of lunch meat. I saw the SPAM sample and a little light bulb went off in my head. SPAM can’t be that bad? I mean, it’s loaded with sodium and fat, but sodium and fat are usually what makes food taste good, isn’t it? So, I made Matt a SPAM sandwich and silently snickered as I tried to imagine the look on his face and wondered whether or not he would actually eat. I couldn’t wait for our daily after school talks to see how his lunch went.
The day passed on and school was finally out and I decided it was time for my daily check-in call to Matt while I drove home.
Matt: “Hey, Sugar Bunches, thanks for making me lunch again today.”
Me: “Did you like it?…”
Turns out that in my sleepiness I didn’t check the bread so it was nice and moldy.
Suzie Homemaker, DON’T make moldy SPAM sandwiches for your hubby!
PS- Did you know SPAM has a game you can play online? If you’re bored or interested go here.
