So, you’ll never believe what I did last night.
Brief background story: Someone, who shall remain nameless for her dignity (Lily), got confused and peed all over our nice black leather couch. To a point where we couldn’t get her to stop and the couch was unsalvageable. Mission: new (to us) couch needed.
Back to last night: So, I’ve been on Craig’s List for the past week trying to find a used couch to transition us to a new couch. We’re afraid “someone” might forget to use the litterbox again and pee on a new couch. So anyway, we decided on used for now. Well, yesterday afternoon I found a couple in Palm Harbor that were giving their couches away for free on a first come first serve basis. Much better than the $300 we planned to spend! So, I went to Lowe’s (by myself), rented a truck (by myself), drove it to Palm Harbor (by myself), backed into the guy’s driveway in the truck (by myself), loaded a couch and two chairs (ok, not by myself, the owner helped me), drove the couches back home (by myself), backed into our driveway (by myself), unloaded the two chairs (by myself), and then rearranged the furniture (by myself). When Matt got home, we unloaded the couch and then loaded our old couch onto it to take it to a dumpster and unload, again. Did I mention that I did it all in 75 minutes! It would have cost an additional $20 for the truck had it taken any longer. So get this, we got a couch and two chairs (one of which is real leather) for the low low price of $20.33, the cost to rent the truck from Lowe’s.
I’m not going to lie. My arms are still shaking and I feel like I’ve been hit by a semi-truck. But, I did it! Does that count as exercise? Because seriously I don’t think I’ve ever worked that hard in my life. Not even when I ran across a baseball field to touch Mc Hammer, or when I ran/walked the Turkey Trot 5K in 2005 & 2006.
In other important news, we have one very cranky cat! Boo is now on the cAtkins diet. I am also considering a raw diet. Somehow Boo has managed to gain another 1/2 lb (weighs 15.5 lbs now!) since getting Lily. We were hoping she would help him lose some weight, but apparently he would rather watch her run around the house than chase her.
