Word! of the Week…

Word! of the Week…

Are there really 988,968 words in the English language?

Interesting little article I came across when I googled “how many words are there in the English language.” Why did I google that? Who knows. However, it got me thinking about when I was in college and I had this word of the week thing going on at the sorority house. I would pin it to our bulletin board and force all passers to come up with at least one sentence using the word. It actually caught on, so I figured, “why not do that again?”. Along with pulling my socks up to my knees and jumping up and down for an entire song for exercise, but that’s a whole other story…

Back to “Word! of the Week.” Did I mention that these words, definitions, and sentences were kind of goofy and/or made up? I think that’s what made it so catchy. So, let me introduce you to a fun little game I used to play in college…..by the way, does this mean I’m having a mid-life crisis already if I’m thinking back to the “good ‘ole college days?”

preface — before the makeup goes on.

“I had my preface on while I did my hair.”

Ok, now you try it. Remember, you’ve got to use it at least one time this week in a sentence, Or else! (j/k) Ok, but seriously, what kind of teacher would I be if I didn’t have you practice what I teach? I’m just sayin’…

  1. OK. That’s pretty funny, Suze. I have to give you props. How’s this? I wear my preface so often that Bryan sometimes doesn’t recognize me when I’m all glammed up.
