SuperBowl Sunday

SuperBowl Sunday

So, I was at the grocery store the other day and the cashier asked me who I was rooting for.

“Um, rooting for what?” (me, confused)
“The Superbowl,” he says.
“Oh, I don’t even know who’s playing. Is that this Sunday?” (me, still confused)
“Duh- it’s the Patirots against the Giants.” Cashier boy starts laughing at me.
“Well, I’m going to have to research this, I don’t really know.” I couldn’t think of anything witty to say.

I should have been mad at cashier boy for laughing at me, but let’s get real- I’m queen of dumb blonde responses. So, after further investigation I have decided to root for the Patriots. Here is my reasoning: Tom Brady is cute and I’m not a fan of Payton Manning (Vols are Gator Bait!). Since Eli is his brother and he plays for the Giants, my decision was simple. Patriots it is. Go Pats!

Mike told me to tell people it’s becuase of something with the Patriots being undeafted and no team has been undefeated and won the Super Bowl, or some garbage like that. But, come on. If I said that no one would believe me! You know I couldn’t come up with that on my own!

Since I was so excited to finally have a team to root for, I called my parents over and made Italian Beef, Guacamole, and a football cake. What fun! Oh yeah, and Go PATS! (I think. It’s today, right?)

  1. LOL. You crack me up. Yes, I knew who was playing and that it was today, but only because Bryan told me…Love your cake:) You should be a home-ec teacher.

  2. That’s so funny! I felt like rooting for the Pats just because everyone at the party we went to were for the Giants, and I don’t like the Giants anyhow — I’m not fond of any NY teams. But really I just wanted it to be a good game, and it was an awesome game.Too bad my water didn’t break in all the excitement — I am now officially past my due date! I’m on maternity leave now though, so you can call me at my cell. If no baby by Thursday, I go into the hospital Thursday afternoon for the pre-inducing crap and early Friday morning they’ll induce. So it’ll be this week come baby or high water!

  3. I made a football cheese ball! lol. We were routing for the Giants because although Tom Brady is not bad to look at, he did leave his pregnant girlfriend for a supermodel! How rude is that.

  4. You definitely chose the right team!! It’s those effing Mannings that screw everything up! Let me tell you how depressing it is to be a Pats fan in NYC…ugh….APRILBAPRYL….not trying to butt in but I’m a pregnancy and birth junkie…please please don’t let them induce you so soon after your due date unless you have a true, valid medical reason!! It’s really bad and greatly increases your chance of c-section. Dr’s can be intimidating…but you have every right to say NO to ANYTHING they tell you “have” to do. I’m really not a random nutjob…lol…I hope to be a midwife someday. 🙂
